A major re-decorating job for Edinburgh Painters & Decorators, re-painting and wallpapering for a stairwell, landing area and entrance to a property in Edinburgh…
The job required stripping back everything to bare material. From there extensive taping & filling was required as the work areas were then lined and prepped. For this job it was lined with 1700 grade lining paper, which is a thick paper in order to give as smooth a finish as possible, but able to be used without having to skim.
It was then painted with two coats of Dulux diamond Matte colour, which is good for high-traffic areas such as this like halls. It is easily wipeable without the need to touch up – so low maintenance.
The finished required painting at the top of each section and papered the bottom. In this case we used a ‘paste-the-wall’ paper, which is a modern way of not having to use a paste table, as it can be applied easily. It’s ideal if you are working in confined spaces and is simply less time-consuming.
In order to get the best finish radiators and hand rails were taken off for best finish (hinges were replaced). This, of course, makes it easier to paint behind and ensures all paint strokes are in unison.
The owner and his wife were very happy with the finished product.
